Kunzea in Glass Ed. 2 of 20
Handpainted woodcut print on Japanese Kozo rice paper, 45x45cm. Signed and numbered on the front.
It's almost a bottlebrush but round and cuter - the fluffy flowers of Kunzea Baxteri. Found all over Australia and with one species also native to New Zealand, they come in reds, pinks, purples, pale yellows and white. I’ve kept this print monotone, with just the block printing ink and details in drawing ink. I've used Japanese Kozo paper, which is thin but strong, made from the mulberry tree. There will be a maximum of twenty of these prints, so if this isn't the perfect one for you, then keep an eye out for one of its siblings.
Colour requests: If you would like one of these prints with a particular colour theme, I’ll make it yours! Please get in touch with your idea.

Framing Advice
This is a standard size (18” x 18”), and you can find affordable off-the-shelf frames if you prefer to frame it yourself. I can arrange professional framing similar to that shown here, for around the same as you would pay plus the extra packaging and shipping costs. For more details, see my framing advice.
About this collection
Woodcut printing and still life are both classical arts, and I'm bringing them together to create this series of hand made Australian wildflower prints. Think wattles, banksias and waratahs, all arranged as though they’re on your kitchen table. I use a combination of European and Japanese printmaking techniques, starting with inking a carved wooden block and hand-pressing the image onto paper. One of a limited edition run of twenty, each print is unique. I vary the paper and printing process, and finish the print with hand painted details to create one of a kind.
