Handpainted woodcut prints of Australian native flowers.
Woodcut printing and still life are both classical arts, and I'm bringing them together to create this series of hand made Australian wildflower prints. Think wattles, banksias and waratahs, all arranged as though they’re on your kitchen table.
About woodcut prints
It’s a labour of love to make these. I use a combination of European and Japanese printmaking techniques, starting with inking a carved wooden block and hand-pressing the image onto paper (a bit like a stamp). Part of a limited run of twenty, each print is unique. I vary the paper and ink, and finish it with painted details to create one of a kind.
