Poppies in ANZAC
Oil on canvas, ready to hang. 40 x 40cm
Inspired by the wall of ANZAC poppies at the War Memorial in Canberra. It's one of the first places visitors to Canberra go, and I drive past on the way to work. They also feature in my garden every year, popping up from seed in about September. Simple but showy.

Framing advice
This is a painting on stretched canvas with a wire on the back, ready to hang as is. A floating wooden frame can be added, which will look similar to the framed picture shown here.
About this Collection
Flowers are so inviting to the eye — all sinuous lines and rich textures, papery-thin or velvety thick, spiny or ruffly. It’s very conventional subject matter, but I want you to see what I see, so I paint them a little differently. These floral still lifes are composed with a macro lens view, painted with creamy soft oils, and colour saturated to give a dreamy fantasy landscape feel.
